Regular Season Round 8: CFBB - Mulhouse 61-69

Bottom-ranked CFBB is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifteenth ranked Mulhouse Basket (2-6) 69-61 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-61. Mulhouse Basket forced 20 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 38-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American power forward Marcus Kitts (205-89, college: William & Mary) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by Stephane Gombauld (203-97) did not help to save the game for CFBB. Guard Luc Loubaki (191-97) added 15 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Mulhouse Basket maintains fifteenth position with 2-6 record. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with seven games lost. Mulhouse Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CFBB will play against Saint Vallier (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
