Undefeated leader Beijing Great Wall delivered the fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Henan (0-4) 96-73. The game without a history. Beijing Great Wall led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Henan's 40. Beijing Great Wall forced 20 Henan turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and international forward Ting Shao (183-89) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Beijing Great Wall players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) responded with 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and swingman Jie Sun (183-91) scored 17 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Great Wall have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Shanxi. Newly promoted Henan still closes the standings with four games lost. Beijing Great Wall will meet league's second-placed Shanxi Rui Flame in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Henan will play against Shenyang Golden Lions in Dandong and hopes to get finally their first victory.
