Regular Season Round 5: Wildcats - United 68-59

Date: November 9, 2014
There was no surprise when 7th ranked United (2-4) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Perth Wildcats (4-2) 68-59. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 15-13 United's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 68-59 at the end of the game. The former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St., agency: Warren Sports International) nailed 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American forward DeAndre Daniels (206-92, college: Connecticut) accounted for 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Perth Wildcats' coach Trevor Gleeson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and international forward Lucas Walker (202-84, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 8 points and 13 rebounds respectively for United in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to third place. United at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Perth Wildcats' next round opponent will be Kings (#6) in Sydney. United will play on the road against Adelaide 36ers in Findon and hope to win that game.
