Regular Season Round 7: Pogon RS - MCKiS Jaworz. 68-79

There was a minor upset in Ruda Slaska where 4th placed Pogon RS (4-3) was defeated by sixth ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (4-2) 79-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by MCKiS Jaworz.. Pogon RS was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Pogon RS 44-27 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Lukasz Bak (210-81, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Power forward Daniel Goldammer (200-89) helped adding 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side center Adam Andula (201-87) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Pawel Mol (180-87) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pogon RS's coach Marcin Cyran tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MCKiS Jaworz. moved-up to third place in Group C, which they share with WKK Wroclaw and Mickiewicz. Newly promoted Pogon RS dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. MCKiS Jaworz. will face MKS DG 2 (#9) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pogon RS will play on the road against AZS PCz in Czestochowa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
