The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Hokkaido L.'s (2-8) home loss to fifth ranked Toshiba Thunders (5-3) in Saporro 63-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Hokkaido L. was better in second period 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) added 13 points in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Toshiba Thunders. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Mitsubishi DD and Hiroshima D. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Toyota Alvark (#3) in Tokyo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
