Regular Season Round 7: Killester - Swords Thunder 61-72

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Killester (4-2) against fourth ranked Swords Thunder (3-1) on Sunday night. Host Killester was defeated by Swords Thunder in Dublin 72-61. Swords Thunder outrebounded Killester 49-34 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Killester's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Isaac Westbrooks (189-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Spanish forward Juan Torres (196-92) contributed with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Swords Thunder's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Niall Hegarty (192-94) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Killester. Newly promoted Swords Thunder maintains fourth place with 3-1 record. Defending champion Killester keeps the second position with two games lost. Swords Thunder will play against UCD Marian (#9) in Dublin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Killester will play on the road against UL Eagles (#7) in Limerick and hopes to get back on the winning track.
