Regular Season Round 7: AZS PCz - Alba Chorzow 87-93

Rather predictable result in Czestochowa where fifth ranked Alba Chorzow (5-2) defeated 8th ranked AZS PCz (3-3) 93-87 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But AZS PCz won fourth quarter 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS PCz was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Jakub Maksymiuk (192-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Tomasz Bryzek (195-86) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94) responded with 27 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and forward Wojciech Kotlewski (195-84) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Alba Chorzow and four AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Alba Chorzow. They moved-up to second place in Group C. Loser AZS PCz keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Alba Chorzow will have a break next round. AZS PCz will play at home against Pogon RS (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
