Regular Season Round 7: Kalisz - Koscian 65-67

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kalisz (4-3) against eleventh ranked Koscian (1-5) on Sunday night. Host Kalisz was edged by Koscian in a tough game in Kalisz 65-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kalisz. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kalisz won third quarter 19-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Koscian won last quarter 16-15. Koscian outrebounded Kalisz 47-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Slawomir Nowak (199-77) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Wiktor Wizerkaniuk (198-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Koscian players scored in double figures. Forward Blazej Rabe (199-90) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Jakub Kolodziej (186-86) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kalisz. Newly promoted Koscian maintains eleventh place in Group D with 1-5 record. Kalisz at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Koscian's next round opponent will be higher ranked Slask 2 Wroclaw (#10) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
