Serie A2 top team - San Pietro (6-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Roma SRB (2-4) 59-35. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 24 points. San Pietro dominated on the defensive end, holding Roma SRB to just 4 points in third quarter and to 11 points in second half. San Pietro forced 29 Roma SRB turnovers. It was a very good performance for Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (188-86, agency: IPSA) who helped to win the game recording 6 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Simona Ballardini (183-81) contributed with 7 points and 6 steals for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted San Pietro maintains first place in A2 with 6-1 record. Roma SRB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with four games lost. San Pietro will have a break next round. Roma SRB will play at home against Bologna (#3) and hope to win that game.
