Regular Season Round 14: Jefes - Soles 86-94

Date: November 9, 2014
The game in was also quite interesting. Second ranked Soles (11-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Jefes (6-8). Soles managed to secure a 8-point victory 94-86 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-86. Soles shot 62.7 percent from the field. Soles had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) supported him with 19 points. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Soles' coach Ivan Deniz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Dan Jennings (206-90, college: Long Beach St.) did not help to save the game for Jefes. His fellow American import guard Ray Gallegos (188-90, college: Nebraska) added 26 points for the hosts. Soles have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Halc.Rojos. Newly promoted Jefes keep the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Abejas. Soles will meet Correcaminos (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Jefes will play against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
