Regular Season Round 4: TianJin S. - Chongqing FD 112-108

Bottom-ranked Chongqing FD (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 112-108 loss to eighth ranked TianJin Steel (3-1) in Tianjin on Sunday evening. Chongqing FD trailed by 17 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 36-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 108-112 at the end of the game. TianJin Steel made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) chipped in 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) produced a triple-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Peng Yao (205-86) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four TianJin Steel and five Chongqing FD players scored in double figures. TianJin Steel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beijing Ducks and Guangdong ST. Newly promoted Chongqing FD still closes the standings with four games lost. TianJin Steel will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in Taiyuan in the next round where they are favorite. Chongqing FD will play at home against Jiangsu TX (#17) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
