Rather expected game in Tenerife where 6th ranked CB Canarias (3-3) was defeated by fourth ranked Regal FC Barcelona (5-1) 80-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Regal FC Barcelona. CB Canarias was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Regal FC Barcelona's coach Xavier Pascual used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) who recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Rodrigo San Miguel (186-85) added 8 points and 5 assists respectively. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Unicaja and Bilbao Basket. Loser CB Canarias dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will face Valencia Basket (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. CB Canarias will play against Unicaja Malaga and hope to win that game.
