Regular Season Round 12: MH Basket - Hispano Am. 88-80

Rather predictable result when first ranked MH Basket (6-2) won against 4th ranked Hispano Am. (2-6) in Monte Hermoso 88-80 on Sunday. Hispano Am. trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-88 at the end of the game. MH Basket made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for swingman Nicolas Lauria (202-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Alejo Montes Cardozo (188-91) contributed with 26 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. Power forward Gonzalo Torres (202-94) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Puerto Rican power forward Fernando Gutman (203-78) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Hispano Am.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MH Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-2 record, which they share with Villa Angela. Hispano Am. lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth place with six games lost. MH Basket will face league's second-placed Huracan in Trelew in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hispano Am. will play at home against Alianza Viedma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
