Regular Season Round 6: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Hapoel J-M 62-93
Date: November 9, 2014
Very predictable result when top-ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (6-0) rolled over 7th ranked Bnei Hasharon (2-4) in Hod Hasharon 93-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Jerusalem. Bnei Hasharon was better in fourth quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Jerusalem dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bnei Hasharon's 30. They outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 56-24 including a 43-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hapoel Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bnei Hasharon's players. It was a good game for American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International forward Lior Eliyahu (205-85) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas) replied with 23 points and 5 steals and Bahamas center Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech) added 12 points in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Jerusalem have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem will face bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bnei Hasharon will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
