Regular Season Round 4: Guangsha L. - Beijing Ducks 111-95

Beijing Ducks (3-1) recorded its first loss in Hangzhou on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (4-0) 111-95. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Beijing Ducks managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) fired 40 points (!!!) for the winners. The other American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) produced 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and international Yue Sun (206-85) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Defending champion Beijing Ducks dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Guangdong ST and TianJin S.. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face Jilin Tigers (#13) in Changchun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Shanghai Sharks (#20) and are hoping to win this game.
