Regular Season Round 4: Tsmoki-Minsk - BrGU 80-43

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Minsk. Top-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk faced 3rd ranked BrGU COR Victoria. Host Tsmoki-Minsk (4-0) smashed guests from Brest (2-2) 80-43. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-43. Tsmoki-Minsk dominated on the defensive end, holding BrGU COR Victoria to just 5 points in third quarter and to 11 points in second half. Tsmoki-Minsk dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to BrGU COR Victoria's 24. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 24 BrGU COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by BrGU COR Victoria's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Maryia Papova (189-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Ala Murauskaya (187-85) who added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Nadzeya Yakovits (182-90) responded with 10 points and center Alesia Lalovich (188-79) scored 7 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tsmoki-Minsk have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gorizont. Loser BrGU COR Victoria dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Sozh-GGU. Tsmoki-Minsk will meet Sozh-GGU (#5) in the next round. BrGU COR Victoria will play against Olimpia GrGAU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
