Bottom-ranked Bulleen Boomers managed to get the second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Dandenong Rangers in Melbourne 93-77. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference suggests that Bulleen Boomers is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-77. Bulleen Boomers forced 19 Dandenong Rangers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists and the former international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. Five Bulleen Boomers players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Penny Taylor (185-81) responded with 26 points and American guard Cappie Pondexter (175-83, college: Rutgers) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Dandenong Rangers' coach let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Bulleen Boomers (2-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Adelaide and West Coast. Loser Dandenong Rangers dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Bulleen Boomers will meet higher ranked Townsville Fire (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dandenong Rangers will play against the league's leader Bendigo Spirit (#1) and hope to secure a win.
