Regular Season Round 3: Toyota A. - Fujitsu RW 60-77

There was a small surprise when Fujitsu RW (2-1) beat Toyota A. (1-1) in Nagoya 77-60. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Toyota A. was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Toyota A. 42-29 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Mai Ishikawa (179-85) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Kazumi Suzuki (177-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Toyota A.'s coach Toshihiro Goto tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fujitsu RW's next round opponent will be JX-Eneos S. (#3) in Kashiwa, which may be the game of the day. Toyota A. will play on the road against Hitachi Cougars in Hitachinaka and hope to win that game.
