Regular Season Round 7: Asker Aliens - Gimle BBK 89-91

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Asker Aliens (4-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Gimle BBK (4-1) 91-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Asker Aliens. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Calvin Henry (198-86, college: Mercer) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Latvian forward Alvis Eglitis (195-85) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Asker Aliens. Four Gimle BBK and five Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. Asker Aliens' coach Rob Knight rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gimle BBK have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Asker Aliens. Gimle BBK is looking forward to face Nidaros Jets (#7) in Tromdheim in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Asker Aliens will play at home against Ammerud Bskt (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
