Regular Season Round 4: Elitzur Netanya - Maccabi R.Hen 59-69

Bottom-ranked Elitzur Netanya (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to seventh ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen (2-2) 69-59. It looked good early as Elitzur Netanya took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi Ramat Hen took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Elitzur Netanya to just 7 points in second quarter. Maccabi Ramat Hen forced 28 Elitzur Netanya turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Maya Isseroff (170-90) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Elitzur Netanya. Four Elitzur Netanya players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ramat Hen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Elitzur Holon. Elitzur Netanya at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Maccabi Ramat Hen's next round opponent will be league's leader Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion at home and it may be quite challenging game. Elitzur Netanya will play against ASA Jerusalem (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
