Regular Season Round 3: Basquete Cearense - Minas 71-65

There was a surprise result in Aldeota where SKY/Basquete (1-2) defeated Minas (1-2) 71-65 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Minas won fourth quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SKY/Basquete had a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) who scored 23 points. American guard Rashaun McLemore (193-86, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Shilton Santos (198-82) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Robby Collum (185-81, college: W.Michigan) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Minas players scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete will meet at home Unitri in the next round. Minas will play against Brasilia and hope to win that game.
