The game between third ranked Shanghai Octopus (4-1) and 11th ranked Zhejiang Far East (1-4) in Shanghai on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. Shanghai Octopus outscored guests from Hangzhou 88-64. The game was mostly controlled by Shanghai Octopus. Zhejiang Far East managed to win second period 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shanghai Octopus dominated on the defensive end, holding Zhejiang Far East to just 6 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Far East's 32. Shanghai Octopus forced 21 Zhejiang Far East turnovers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanghai Octopus moved-up to second place, which they share with Jiangsu and Beijing. Loser Zhejiang Far East dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Heilongjiang and Sichuan. Shanghai Octopus will meet Whale (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zhejiang Far East will play against Jiangsu Phoenix in Yixing and hope to win that game.
