Regular Season Round 7: Hamar - Keflavik 48-92

Dominos League top team - Keflavik (6-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Hamar (1-6) 92-48. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Hamar to an opponent 21.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Keflavik forced 24 Hamar turnovers and outrebounded them 58-32 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hamar's players. It was a quality performance for American guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-91, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. International Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) accounted for 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Keflavik's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Thorunn Bjarnadottir (171-80) came up with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Salbjorg Saevarsdottir (182-91) added 14 points respectively for Hamar in the defeat. Keflavik have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Haukar and Snaefell. Hamar at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Breidablik and KR. Keflavik will play against Breidablik (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hamar will play against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
