Second defeat of Cairns Taipans (6-2) against sixth ranked United (4-4) 91-76 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. United had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Mark Worthington (203-83, college: Metro St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
