Regular Season Round 5: Beijing Ducks - Shanghai S. 119-94

Bottom-ranked Shanghai Sharks is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Beijing Ducks (4-1) 119-94 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Shanghai Sharks was better in third quarter 34-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks forced 27 Shanghai Sharks turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Beijing Ducks looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 9 rebounds. International Yue Sun (206-85) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and center Yang Wu (208-88) added 12 points in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. Five Beijing Ducks and four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Shanghai Sharks lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Jilin Tigers (#8) in Changchun in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Shanghai Sharks will play at home against the league's leader Liaoning Hunters (#1) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
