Rather expected game when 8th ranked Weert (1-8) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Rotterdam (4-5) 93-81 on Thursday. The game without a history. Rotterdam led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. Rotterdam looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international center Robert Krabbendam (213-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Court Side) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and naturalized American guard Matthew Otten (196-81, college: San Francisco St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) chipped in 15 points. Rotterdam's coach Armand Salomon used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Kenneth van Kempen (207-87, college: Ohio, agency: Court Side) with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Roel Aarts (202-93) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Rotterdam and four Weert players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Rotterdam went down to sixth position due to points difference. Weert lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. Rotterdam will meet higher ranked Groningen (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
