The most exciting game of round 9 in the Eredivisie took place in Groningen. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Groningen (4-4) to first ranked Leiden (7-1) 72-70 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Leiden is looking forward to face Leeuwarden (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Groningen will play against Rotterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
