Everything could happen in Guangzhou at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons and 16th ranked Chongqing FD had identical 1-4 record. But Chongqing FD was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Nanjing 125-108. It looked good early as Chongqing FD took an 15-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then Jiangsu Dragons took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 17 points. 25 personal fouls committed by Chongqing FD helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 19 rebounds. point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) contributed with 32 points for the winners. point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) replied with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) added 19 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Chongqing FD. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons (2-4) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Chongqing FD dropped to the seventeenth position with five games lost. Jiangsu Dragons' next round opponent will be higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#8) in Taiyuan and it may be quite challenging game.
