Regular Season Round 7: Asseco - Stabill Jezioro 81-93

Stabill Jezioro's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Asseco (4-3)on the road game in Gdynia 93-81 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 54-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Asseco outrebounded Stabill Jezioro 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Josh Miller (170-87, college: W.Virginia St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU, agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian center Ovidijus Galdikas (217-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Asseco. Five Asseco players scored in double figures. Stabill Jezioro (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Anwil and MKS DG. Asseco at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Stelmet ZG and Energa Czarni. Stabill Jezioro is looking forward to face higher ranked Wilki Morskie (#13) in Szczecin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Asseco will play on the road against AZS Polfarmex (#8) in Kutno and is hoping to win this game.
