Regular Season Round 4: Araski AES - GDKO Bizkaia 42-61

Rather predictable result in Vitoria-Gasteiz where top-ranked Ibaizabal (4-0) smashed 6th ranked Araski AES (2-2) 61-42 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Ibaizabal. Araski AES was better in third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Araski AES to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Araski AES 46-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (180-83) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) who added 9 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Nigerian center Justina Udenze (189-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) responded with 4 points and 9 rebounds and guard Arrate Agirre (174-93) scored 4 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Ibaizabal have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Ensino. Loser Araski AES dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Ibaizabal will face Pabellon Ourense (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Araski AES will play against Cafe Barco (#9) and hope to win that game.
