Regular Season Round 6: Denain - Souffel 70-47

Very predictable result when tenth ranked Denain Voltaire (3-3) rolled over at home 18th ranked Souffelweyersheim (1-5) 70-47 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Denain Voltaire. Souffelweyersheim was better in fourth quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Souffelweyersheim to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Souffelweyersheim 38-24 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for William Howard (201-93) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized DR Congolese point guard Henry Kahudi (194-91) contributed with 8 points and 6 assists for the winners. American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) replied with 14 points and forward Kevin Dinal (202-93) added 11 points in the effort for Souffelweyersheim. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denain Voltaire moved-up to ninth place, which they share with St Quentin and Evreux. Loser Souffelweyersheim dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Denain Voltaire will face Charleville-Mezieres (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Souffelweyersheim will play against the league's second-placed Chorale de Roanne where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
