Regular Season Round 6: Xinjiang FT - TianJin S. 128-101

Third ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (5-1) crushed at home 10th ranked TianJin Steel (3-3) by 27 points 128-101, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. TianJin Steel was better in third quarter 37-33. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 TianJin Steel turnovers. Xinjiang Flying Tige shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a good game for American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 8 assists (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Mihalis Kiritsis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) added 20 points and 7 assists in the effort for TianJin Steel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to second place, which they share with Beijing Ducks and Guangdong ST. TianJin Steel at the other side keeps the tenth position with three games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige's next round opponent will be Jiangsu TX (#18) on the road which should be another easy win for them. TianJin Steel will play against the league's leader Liaoning Hunters (#1) in Yingkou and hope to win that game.
