Regular Season Round 14: Norrkoping - Uppsala 75-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Uppsala Basket (8-1) on the court of third ranked Norrkoping Dolphins on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Norrkoping Dolphins 75-71. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Uppsala Basket. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 4 points. Strangely Uppsala Basket outrebounded Norrkoping Dolphins 44-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Dominique Morrison (198-89, college: ORU) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Mikael Lindquist (193-83) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Norrkoping Dolphins' coach Lars Johansson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Australian-Irish forward Liam Rush (202-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international power forward Oluoma Nnamaka (201-78, college: Marquette) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. Norrkoping Dolphins (8-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Boras. Uppsala Basket at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Norrkoping Dolphins is looking forward to face Sodertalje Kings (#4) at home in the next round. Uppsala Basket will play against Solna Vikings and is hoping to win this game.
