There was no surprise when 14th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (2-4) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-1) 146-120. The game without a history. Qingdao Eagles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's 62 and made 30-of-37 charity shots (81.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank 49-27 including a 40-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Qingdao Eagles players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's players. 32 personal fouls committed by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Coach Qiuping Liu's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) replied with 63 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Peng Ju (206-90) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. Five Qingdao Eagles and four Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank players scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles moved-up to fifth place. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Qingdao Eagles' next round opponent will be Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#9) in Hangzhou. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play at home against Fujian and hope to win that game.
