The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Orchesien BC as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Orchesien BC smashed 11th ranked Lille Metropole in Orchies 81-48. The game without a history. Orchesien BC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Lille Metropole to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Orchesien BC forced 22 Lille Metropole turnovers. It was a good game for power forward Alexis Tanghe (206-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Pierric Poupet (191-84) contributed with 17 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) replied with 10 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lille Metropole. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Orchesien BC have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Roanne and Hyeres-Toulon. Lille Metropole at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with four games lost. They share the position with Nantes and Maurienne. Lille Metropole will play next round against strong Hyeres-Toulon trying to get back on the winning streak. Orchesien BC will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked ALM Evreux on the road.
