Everything went according to plan when second ranked Akita Happinets (11-2) beat at home 8th ranked Bambitious Nara (2-7) 108-92 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 108-92. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Swingman Richard Roby (198-85) stepped up and scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Akita Happinets. They used an opportunity after Kyoto Hannar. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Bambitious Nara lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Akita Happinets will face again Bambitious Nara (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
