Regular Season Round 8: AZS PCz - Pogon RS 89-58

There was a minor upset in Czestochowa where 6th ranked Pogon RS (4-4) was crushed by eighth ranked AZS PCz (4-3) 89-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. AZS PCz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. AZS PCz forced 20 Pogon RS turnovers. The best player for the winners was Leszek Kaczmarski (190-94) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94) chipped in 15 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Five AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Guard Adam Wilkin (194-83) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Pawel Mol (180-87) added 6 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS PCz moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with Mickiewicz and Polonia Bytom. Newly promoted Pogon RS dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. AZS PCz will face MKS DG 2 (#9) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round.
