Regular Season Round 13: Levice - Nitra 86-80

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nitra (1-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Levice (6-6) 86-80 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Levice forced 19 Nitra turnovers. Serbian point guard Luka Igrutinovic (193-92) stepped up and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American swingman Malik Story (196-90, college: Nevada, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Levice players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Justin Ward (203-91, college: Lakeland) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import point guard Martavious Irving (185-90, college: Kansas St., agency: SDJ Sports) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Nitra's coach Lubomir Urban rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Levice maintains sixth place with 6-6 record. Loser Nitra stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Levice will meet Nova Ves (#9) on the road in the next round. Nitra will play against the league's leader Inter Bratislava and hope to win that game.
