Regular Season Round 4: Segle XXI - CREF Hola 72-63

Undefeated CREF Hola (3-1) recorded its first loss in Barcelona. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Segle XXI (2-2) 72-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of CREF Hola. CREF Hola was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 38-27 second half run of Segle XXI. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely CREF Hola outrebounded Segle XXI 45-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. CREF Hola was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by point guard Laia Raventos (170-97) who scored that evening 12 points and 8 rebounds and Clara Che supported her with 17 points. Four Segle XXI players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds by Canadian swingman Kendel Ross (185-88, college: Dayton) did not help to save the game for CREF Hola. Portuguese swingman Maria Correia (174-91) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Segle XXI moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with IF Air Europa. CREF Hola at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Dist.Olimpico and Andratx. Segle XXI will play against league's leader Alcobendas on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. CREF Hola will play against UCAM Jairis and hopes to get back on the winning track.
