Regular Season Round 8: WKK Wroclaw - Mickiewicz 102-80

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked WKK Wroclaw and one of their biggest challengers Mickiewicz had identical 4-2 record. This time WKK Wroclaw used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Katowice 102-80 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group C. The game without a history. WKK Wroclaw led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.3 percent from the field. WKK Wroclaw outrebounded Mickiewicz 39-24 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. WKK Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Dominik Rutkowski (196-98) who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Jakub Niziol (198-96) chipped in 24 points. WKK Wroclaw's coach Sebastian Potoczny felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) produced 14 points and guard Jaroslaw Kolenda (190-86) added 10 points, 6 assists and 5 steals respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. WKK Wroclaw (5-2) moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with Alba Chorzow and MCKiS Jaworz. Loser Mickiewicz dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. WKK Wroclaw's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Wroclaw to the arena Gimbasket Wroclaw.
