Regular Season Round 8: SMS PZKosz - Tczew 77-56

Date: November 15, 2014
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Tczew's (1-6) road loss to eighth ranked SMS PZKosz (3-3) 56-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SMS PZKosz. Tczew was better in third quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SMS PZKosz forced 19 Tczew turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SMS PZKosz made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was center Dominik Olejniczak (207-96) who scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Bartosz Majewski (185-97) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Forward Jakub Golebiewski (198-90, college: Grayson County CC) produced 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Daniel Szlapka (188-92) added 15 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SMS PZKosz moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Asseco II. Tczew lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
