Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Real Celta Vigo and 9th ranked Universidad de Valladolid had identical 1-2 record. But Universidad de Valladolid was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Vigo 62-52 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Real Celta Vigo. Universidad de Valladolid was better in fourth quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Maria Perez Araujo (184-97) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and Mali Minata Keita (-89) who added 9 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Real Celta Vigo's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Noelia Pariente responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Irene Huerta scored 11 points. Real Celta Vigo (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Universidad de Valladolid keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face higher ranked Cortegada (#4) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Universidad de Valladolid will play on the road against Arxil Pontevedra (#3) and hope to win that game.
