Regular Season Round 13: Yokohama BC - Fukuoka Rizing 83-77

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (2-11) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Yokohama BC (4-9) 83-77 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fukuoka Rizing won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) stepped up and scored 31 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and British power forward Dzaflo Larkai (203-81, college: Bellarmine) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Cooper Land (203-88, college: Wright St.) scored 9 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Yokohama BC moved-up to eighth place. Fukuoka Rizing lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Yokohama BC will face again Fukuoka Rizing (#9) at home in the next round.
