Regular Season Round 7: Zabok - Gorica 87-86

The most exciting game of round 7 in the A1 took place in Zabok. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Gorica (2-4) to eighth ranked KK Zabok (3-3) 87-86 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 20 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. 30 personal fouls committed by Gorica helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Filip Bundovic (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Robert Lez (197-79) contributed with 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Ante Zizic (201-97) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Bosnian center Barisa Krasic (203-78) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gorica. Four KK Zabok and five Gorica players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. KK Zabok moved-up to sixth place, which they share with KK Split. Gorica lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. KK Zabok is looking forward to face higher ranked Kvarner (#3) in Rijeka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gorica will play at home against Ribola Kastela (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
