Regular Season Round 6: Kolossos - Nea Kifisia 64-73

Very expected game in Rodou where 10th ranked Kolossos (2-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Nea Kifisia (4-2) 73-64. It looked good early as Kolossos took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nea Kifisia had a 25-13 second period charge getting the lead and Kolossos was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-73. Nea Kifisia players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Dimitrios Mavroeidis (208-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Serbian Uros Duvnjak (190-86, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Nea Kifisia players scored in double figures. Nea Kifisia's coach Ilias Papatheodorou allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kolossos. Nea Kifisia moved-up to fifth place. Kolossos at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Nea Kifisia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens AEK Athens.
