Regular Season Round 16: Barreteros - Gigantes 86-78

An interesting game took place in Zacatecas where 10th ranked Gigantes (5-11) were upseton the court of thirteenth ranked Barreteros (4-10) 86-78. Gigantes were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Barreteros players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Gigantes' players. The winners were led by American power forward Marcus Fizer (203-78, college: Iowa St., agency: Worldwide Career Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Raul Navarro (192-84) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by American power forward Sean Carter (205-88, college: Massachusetts) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. His fellow American import forward Anthony Johnson (201-89, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) added 18 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Barreteros moved-up to twelfth place. Gigantes lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
