Regular Season Round 4: Chanson V-M - Toyota B SR 74-49

There was a change at the WJBL leadership position after last games. Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Toyota B SR (4-1). They were crushed by sixth ranked Chanson V-M (3-2) 74-49 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Toyota B SR. The game without a history. Chanson V-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota B SR's 32 and made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Toyota B SR 107-93 including a 47-35 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chanson V-M shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 70.0 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chanson V-M made 204 blocks. 47 personal fouls committed by Toyota B SR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Minaho Miyoshi (167-93) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Chanson V-M's coach Isao Kimura felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Yoshie Watanabe (162-86) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Chanson V-M moved-up to fourth place. Toyota B SR at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Denso Iris. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
