Regular Season Round 6: Liaoning - Henan 89-70

Very expected game in Anshan where bottom-ranked Henan (0-6) was crushed by eighth ranked Liaoning Hengye (3-3) 89-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Liaoning Hengye. Henan was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Liaoning Hengye forced 19 Henan turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Liaoning Hengye especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Guard TingTing Wang (175-91) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Janel McCarville (188-82, college: Minnesota, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Jie Sun (183-91) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Liaoning Hengye moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Shenyang. Newly promoted Henan still closes the standings with six games lost. Liaoning Hengye will face higher ranked Beijing Great Wall (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Henan will play against Heilongjiang Chenneng (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
