Rather predictable result when third ranked Beijing Great Wall (5-1) smashed at home 6th ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (3-3) 106-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Great Wall. Shenyang Golden Lions was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Great Wall dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Shenyang Golden Lions' 52. They outrebounded Shenyang Golden Lions 34-16 including 22 on the defensive glass. Beijing Great Wall looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Ting Shao (183-89) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Xuejiao Wu (189-89) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Shuai Liu (194-96) scored 16 points. Beijing Great Wall moved-up to second place, which they share with Shanghai and Jiangsu. Shenyang Golden Lions at the other side keep the sixth position with three games lost. Beijing Great Wall will face Liaoning Hengye (#7) in Anshan in the next round where they are favorite. Shenyang Golden Lions will play at home against the league's leader Shanxi Rui Flame and hope to win that game.
