Regular Season Round 10: Tochigi Brex - Chiba Jets 77-65

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Chiba Jets (6-6) were defeated on the road by second ranked Tochigi Brex (10-2) 77-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Chiba Jets was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Kosuke Ishii scored 13 points. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having just -2 point less than leader Hitachi SR. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the fifth place with six games lost. Tochigi Brex will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chiba Jets will play at home against Toshiba Thunders (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
